God is an Immigrant – an exploration of immigration in the Bible and next steps for comprehensive immigration Reform
Cathy and Ron Whitlatch will facilitate an immigration workshop at Wilder UMC on Saturday, February 6, 2010, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The workshop is free and open to everyone in the community and will be offered in both Spanish and English. The workshop will focus on Biblical and theological roots for caring for immigrants. Teaching the Social Principles with Neal Christie from the Global Board of Church & Society

Neal Christie, Assistant General Secretary, Education and Leadership Formation, GBCS, is offering training on Teaching the Social Principles. “My goal is for people to come away with very specific strategies on how to teach the Social Principles . . .” said the Reverend Christie. Two workshops will be offered; In Boise – Saturday, March 20, 9 a.m. to noon at Hillview UMC and Idaho Falls, Sunday, March 21, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at St. Paul’s. Following the Boise event there will be a special opportunity for young adults to have lunch with Reverend Christie to talk about peace and justice issues. Trinity UMC will offer a chance to interact with Reverend Christie the morning of Sunday, March 21. These events are free of charge and open to any interested clergy and laity. What is UMYWE? A weekend for United Methodist Youth to come closer to God and have a fantastic time dong it!
What do we do? Worship God, listen to some inspiring stories, make a ton of new friends, play games, and much more.
Who? All youth grades 6 – 12
